I'm Ready, Let's GO!
It’s time. Yes, it’s
not too early or too late. But it is time. It’s time to get out the decorations,
time to make lists and check them a hundred times. Even time to make a list of
the things you would like this Christmas. After all, they asked didn’t they? Maybe something like a 1967 Ambassador?
But this is the Christmas season. The next month or so is a
wonderful time to smile more, to say, Merry Christmas; or to our friends and
family across the pond, Happy Christmas. I have even had my first delightful
Christmas experience.
I was at Freshco just the other day and going to get in line
and there was a women in front of me with lots of decorating items. Seemed like
a nice person as she turned to me and motioned for me go ahead as I only have a few
items. I thanked her and we started to talk. Nice chat as she said they were
planning for a festive party on the weekend. Sounds good to me but I don’t
think it was an invitation for me to show up.
I was struck by what she said next. She said, “On from here
to get some drinks for everyone”. Being who I am; I replied, “I’m not sure they
served drinks when Jesus was born.” She looked at me and lowered her head and
said, “No, I don’t think they did.” I believe this may have been the first time
in a lot of years that someone had mention to her anything about Jesus. We
smiled and said Merry Christmas as I started for the door. Just a Christ moment
that was a wonderful moment thinking about just getting together, just to be
together.
In Rev. 3 Jesus comes to our home and knocks on the door. He
wants us to open the door so He can come in and party with us. That is what I
believe Christmas is. It is a time where we throw up the tree, clean and
decorate and go out and prepare for Him to come and be at the parties we have.
Doesn’t that sound amazing?
Something to think about
Rob
